Things to do in Clearwater after the session

Things to do in Clearwater after the session

If you’re vacationing with your family and choose one of my preferred locations in the Tampa Bay area, you may be wondering what things you can do in the local Clearwater area after the photo session is complete. Because I always encourage potential clients to book in the early morning - around the "golden hour" - when the light is softer and the temperature is far more pleasant, afterwards the whole day is open.

Before you head to the beach, I invite you to forestall the sand and sun for a little while longer and explore the local area for a bite to eat. The great thing about the Tampa Bay area and Clearwater in particular is the sheer amount of options available when it comes to nice places to spend time in with the family.

First off, I am a huge fan of little locally owned cafes. Forget bars, theme parks or boutique shopping – find me a quirky little coffee shop with free WiFi, great service and strong vanilla lattes and it will quickly become one of my favorite places to work and chill out in during the day.

This family-owned bakery is just a 5 minute drive from one of my preferred locations, Philippe Park. On the corner of Enterprise and McMullen is Elizabeth’s Gourmet Delights, tucked between a dry cleaners and florist facing Enterprise road. I am a frequenter of this café because of their delicious food, charming décor, low-key atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. They provide a variety of fresh, organic pastries as well as breakfast and brunch options - my favorites are the breakfast sandwich, pecan bar and their Kahwa coffee. You can tell that there are many regulars that eat here, which is always a good sign - whenever I come in, Jim and Elizabeth, the owners, are always greeting people by name. All in all, Clearwater vacationing families should definitely stop by Elizabeth's - it will definitely not disappoint.

I will be continuing this series of lovely local places and fun, relaxing family activities that are slightly less known then the many chain stores in the area throughout the month! After your Tampa Bay area family photo session, I hope that this blog post encourages you to explore the area and give the local shops and cafes a try.
